Lahore Qalandars are set to come back to the Global Super League in 2026, having taken part in its first edition.
A high-profile franchise
The side has won the Pakistan Super League three times and is widely seen as one of the most popular and successful franchise teams in world cricket. Their return is expected to add to the stature and international appeal of the tournament.
Over the years the Qalandars have built a strong name on and off the field. An EY MENA (Ernst & Young) valuation ranked them among the most commercially valuable teams in the PSL.
Reaction
Team owner Sameen Rana said he was delighted that the franchise is returning. He stressed the value of the platform for showing off talent and culture and for long-term player development, and noted the chance to field graduates of their development programme on an international stage.
Global Super League chairman Clive Lloyd also welcomed the team back. He called them one of the most dynamic T20 sides in the world and said their presence lifts both the quality and the profile of the event.
With leading franchises from several cricketing nations taking part, the Global Super League continues to grow as a major worldwide T20 competition.
