Player SpotlightMohammad Rizwan Admits Poor Form Does Not Merit a Pakistan Place
Mohammad Rizwan says his PSL 2026 returns do not justify national selection, but insists he will keep working to win back his place in the Pakistan side.
Lahore Qalandars meet Quetta Gladiators in the 26th match of the Pakistan Super League 2026 at the National Stadium in Karachi. It is an evening fixture under lights, and the conditions point towards a good game for batters.
Lahore’s likely XI is built around Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy. Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah Khan and Mohammad Naeem make up the top order, with Sikandar Raza and Asif Ali in the middle. The bowling has plenty of variety: Mustafizur Rahman, Dunith Wellalage and Usama Mir alongside Afridi and Ubaid Shah.
Quetta, led by Saud Shakeel, have Sam Harper, Rilee Rossouw, Hasan Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay and Bevon Jacobs in a batting group that can score quickly. Abrar Ahmed is the spin option, while Khalil Ahmed, Usman Tariq, Jahandad Khan and Kashif Bhatti make up the rest of the attack.
We expect early runs in the powerplay, spinners to slow things slightly through the middle overs and dew to assist the side batting second. A par score of around 175–185 looks competitive, and our preview slightly favours Quetta Gladiators to come out on top.
Karachi’s National Stadium generally gives batters a flat surface with true bounce, and a fast outfield makes high T20 totals common. Pacers may get some swing or movement with the new ball, though batting gets easier as the game moves on. Spinners can find a little help in the middle overs without sharp turn. Under lights, dew often makes the ball slippery in the second innings, which tends to help the chasing side.
The evening looks warm and comfortable, with temperatures around 29–31°C at the 7:00 pm local start, mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and moderate coastal humidity. A light sea breeze is expected and the chance of rain is very low.
