Guyana Amazon Warriors meet Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in Qualifier 1 of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on Thursday 17 September, with a 8:00 pm local start.
Guyana are captained by Imran Tahir. Glenn Phillips, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Quentin Sampson are the key batters, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Romario Shepherd and Dwaine Pretorius adding all-round options. Veerasammy Permaul and Ronaldo Alimohamed round out the likely XI, and the squad also includes Mohammad Nabi, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shamar Joseph.
Antigua and Barbuda are led by Moeen Ali. Evin Lewis, Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz are expected at the top of the order, supported by Shadab Khan and Fabian Allen. The attack features Sufyan Moqim, Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph and Joshua James.
A first-innings total of 170 or more would be strong and 180 would put real pressure on the chasing side. If dew and humidity arrive, spinners could find it harder to grip the ball.
Kensington Oval normally offers a balanced surface, with slight early help for seamers. The new ball can seam and bounce in the powerplay, and batters can score freely once set. Spin may help in the middle overs as the pitch slows. A first-innings total of 160–175 is competitive and 175 or more is strong. Slower balls and variations can work well, and dew may make chasing a little easier.
The evening should be warm, humid and breezy with mostly clear skies. A brief shower is possible earlier in the day, but the rain risk at match time is low. Temperatures should be around 27–28°C, and humidity and a moderate wind could create some dew later on.
