Katherine Sciver-Brunt Joins Trent Rockets as Assistant Coach for The Hundred 2026

Katherine Sciver-Brunt is returning to Trent Rockets, this time as an assistant coach for The Hundred 2026. She will work with head coach Chris Read and with England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt.

A decorated playing career

Awarded the OBE for services to cricket, Katherine remains one of England’s finest bowlers. She finished her international career with 335 wickets, 170 of them in One-Day Internationals. She was part of England’s winning squads at the 2009 Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2017 Women’s World Cup, and played for Trent Rockets in the first three seasons of The Hundred, from 2021 to 2023.

She said the time felt right to come back to the game after three years adjusting to retirement and motherhood. Trent Bridge, she said, is a special place and the chance to return to the Rockets as a coach was too good to turn down. She added that she is excited about coaching and mentoring elite players and looks forward to working with what she called a “special squad.”

Other coaching changes

The Hundred is increasingly drawing on former players for its coaching ranks. Anya Shrubsole and Sarah Taylor are assistant coaches at Manchester Super Giants and Southern Brave respectively. Charlotte Edwards, formerly Southern Brave head coach, now leads England Women, and Lisa Keightley of MI London is still the competition’s only female head coach.

Trent Rockets have also named former Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme White as fielding coach for the women’s team. Nat Sciver-Brunt gave up the captaincy last year to concentrate on England duties, and Australia’s Ash Gardner has taken over. In the men’s setup, Anton Roux, previously South Africa’s white-ball bowling coach, joins Peter Moores as an assistant.
