Charlotte Edwards was born in 1979 in Huntingdon, England. A gifted young cricketer, she made her England debut in 1996 at the age of 16, and went on to become one of the longest-serving international players in the women’s game.

She remained a consistent run-scorer through two decades, and when she retired from international cricket in 2016 she was the leading run-scorer in women’s one-day internationals. She played domestic cricket for Kent among other teams.
