Jasprit Bumrah has shared some advice on yorker bowling with Kolkata Knight Riders seamer Kartik Tyagi following the KKR versus Mumbai Indians game.
The advice
A video posted on Mumbai Indians’ official social media accounts showed Bumrah, widely regarded as one of the world’s best death bowlers, explaining how Tyagi could improve his execution of the delivery.
Bumrah said he practises yorkers when he is tired, because in a match the body is fatigued when yorkers are needed. He suggested saving them for the last six balls of a net session, when tiredness is at its greatest, so that the body becomes used to it and the delivery gets easier in the game.
Bumrah’s own season
Bumrah developed his yorker at MI, where he also worked on it alongside Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga. His IPL 2026 has been tougher than usual, with four wickets in 13 matches at an economy rate of 8.36. He did, however, end the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 as joint-highest wicket-taker and played a major part in India’s title win.
Tyagi’s breakthrough
Tyagi is having a breakout year with KKR. He has taken 18 wickets and stepped up in the absence of the injured Harshit Rana.
