Mandhana Passes Suzie Bates to Rank Second in Women’s International Runs

Smriti Mandhana has become the second-highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket, overtaking New Zealand’s Suzie Bates. She made 19 off 10 balls in India’s Women’s Asia Cup match, lifting her total across Tests, ODIs and T20Is to 10,756 runs from 302 innings.

Bates has 10,740 runs from 352 innings, so only former India captain Mithali Raj is now ahead of Mandhana.

Closing on Mithali Raj

Raj leads the list with 10,868 runs from 314 innings, the total she finished on when she retired in 2022. Mandhana is 112 runs short of that mark and has reached her current tally in 12 fewer innings than Raj, a sign of her consistency across formats.

With the Asia Cup still going and plenty of international cricket to come, she will have more chances to close the gap.
