Murali Kartik Says Kohli Got a “Taste of His Own Medicine” From Prince Yadav

Virat Kohli’s early exit was the main talking point of Lucknow Super Giants’ nine-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Chasing 210, RCB were hit in the second over when Prince Yadav bowled Kohli for a two-ball duck with a superb delivery.

Prince credits Kohli’s advice

The seamer said afterwards that the wicket went exactly to plan. He explained that Kohli had told him after the previous match there was no need to alter a good length while the ball was moving. Prince followed that advice, held his line and length, and was rewarded.

Reaction from the commentary box

Former India spinner Murali Kartik joked that Kohli had received a taste of his own medicine. He said Prince surprised everyone and that Kohli looked at himself and the pitch afterwards, even seeming to ask the non-striker whether the ball had stayed low. In Kartik’s view there was nothing wrong with the delivery; it was simply brilliant.

Rohan Gavaskar also praised the bowler, calling it a moment he would remember for the rest of his career. He joked that Lucknow or Prince fans would have loved it, while Kohli supporters would not.

The result

RCB fought back late but finished on 203/6 in their 19 overs, nine runs short. Prince took three wickets, and Mitchell Marsh was named Player of the Match for his 111 off 56 balls in the first innings.
