Kris Srikkanth has been sharply critical of Delhi Capitals after their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, starting with captain Axar Patel.
Questions over the captain
Srikkanth asked how long it has been since Axar produced a match-winning display with bat or ball, and said this raised concerns about his captaincy and wider contribution to the side.
Batting weaknesses
He also listed problems in the batting order. In his view Tristan Stubbs has not delivered big scores, Sameer Rizvi struggles against pace early in an innings, and David Miller has failed to make a meaningful impact. He added that Nitish Rana looks vulnerable to short-pitched bowling.
Remarks aimed at the coach
Srikkanth also took aim at head coach Hemang Badani over his earlier comments about Stephen Fleming. Badani had played down Fleming’s part in Chennai Super Kings’ success and credited MS Dhoni instead. Srikkanth said Badani should concentrate on his own duties rather than comment on others, particularly given Delhi’s current difficulties in the tournament.
