Player SpotlightMohammad Rizwan Admits Poor Form Does Not Merit a Pakistan Place
Mohammad Rizwan says his PSL 2026 returns do not justify national selection, but insists he will keep working to win back his place in the Pakistan side.
Lahore Qalandars host Quetta Gladiators in the 30th match of the Pakistan Super League 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium, with an afternoon start in extreme heat.
Lahore’s likely XI is captained by Shaheen Afridi. Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Farooq, Abdullah Shafique and Charith Asalanka form the top of the order, with Haseebullah Khan as wicketkeeper, and Sikandar Raza, Asif Ali and Daniel Sams add depth. Usama Mir and Haris Rauf are in the bowling attack.
Quetta, led by Saud Shakeel, have Shamyl Hussain, Rilee Rossouw, Hasan Nawaz and wicketkeeper Dinesh Chandimal in the likely XI. Bevon Jacobs and Jahandad Khan support the batting, while Saqib Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq make up the bowling unit.
With a hard, flat surface and little movement for the quicks, bowlers will need variations to survive. The pitch may slow a little in the middle overs and give spinners some grip, and a fast start in the powerplay could be decisive. Teams may prefer to bat first in the heat, and 50–65 runs are possible in the death overs.
Gaddafi Stadium is regarded as a batting-friendly ground: the surface is flat with consistent bounce, and a fast outfield helps stroke-makers, particularly in limited-overs games. Pacers may find a bit of swing with the new ball, especially in day-night matches, but the pitch eases for batting as the game goes on. Expect very little seam or swing movement in this afternoon fixture.
Conditions look extremely hot and dry for the 2:30 pm local start, with temperatures that could reach about 38–40°C under bright, sunny skies. The chance of rain is almost zero and humidity should stay low, although the heat may be harsh on the players.
