Ahead of India’s second T20I against England, a relaxed Snapchat video has offered a glimpse of the mood in the camp. It shows Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the company of opener Abhishek Sharma and all-rounder Axar Patel, enjoying a break before an important game.
In the clip, Abhishek greets followers and jokes that he has read through every question fans sent in. Axar, laughing in the background, urges him to answer them himself, and the two trade friendly banter.
Abhishek then asks supporters to send questions for Suryavanshi too. The 15-year-old smiles and requests longer questions, so that he and his team-mates can give fuller answers. Despite being among senior players, he looks comfortable and at ease.
Series so far
The second match follows a series opener at Chester-le-Street that produced no result because of persistent rain. India had made 189/7 after being put in, but England never got to start their reply before the game was called off.
Will the debut finally arrive?
Suryavanshi has been named in India’s squads for both the Ireland and England T20I tours, which has created plenty of excitement, yet he is still waiting for his first international cap. The left-hander sat out both matches against Ireland and was left out of the XI for the rain-affected first game against England.
Several former cricketers have backed his selection. The management has so far stuck with the opening pairing used at the 2026 T20 World Cup, but Sanju Samson’s scores of 5, 0 and 1 in his last three innings have increased calls for a change.
Whether India throw Suryavanshi in at Manchester or ask him to wait longer is one of the main talking points before the second T20I.
