Subhadeep Ghosh has been appointed India’s new fielding coach ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Who is Ghosh

Now 57, Ghosh played 17 first-class matches for Assam and Railways between 1994 and 2004. After retiring he built a coaching career at both domestic and international level. He has been head coach of the Assam senior men’s side and has held roles at the National Cricket Academy. He has also worked with India A and the Indian women’s team, and gained Indian Premier League experience with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Assam Cricket Association welcomed the news, calling it a proud moment for cricket in the state. In an official statement it praised his coaching journey, his contributions across several Indian teams and age-group sides, and his dedication and expertise. It also said his promotion to the national set-up would inspire aspiring players and coaches from Assam and beyond.
