Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Rasikh Salam Dar says his aim is simply to help the team in whatever way he can as RCB prepare to take on Lucknow Super Giants.
RCB in good shape
Led by Rajat Patidar, the defending champions arrive in form after an 18-run win over Mumbai Indians. Rasikh was among the standouts in that match, returning figures of 1/23.
RCB are third in the table with six points from four games and hold the best net run-rate in the competition. The Lucknow fixture also begins a key stretch for them, with three straight matches at home.
Rasikh’s view
Speaking before the game, Rasikh discussed the team’s recent performance and his own return to IPL cricket. He described the previous win as important and said everyone in the squad knows their role clearly.
Although he was playing an IPL match after a gap, he said his preparation and approach were unchanged, with the focus on carrying out plans built through plenty of training.
He is part of an experienced attack that includes Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya. Asked about his role alongside senior bowlers like Hazlewood, he said his priority is to contribute in any way possible and support the side’s overall effort.
