Kranti Goud has made history at Lord’s by becoming the first woman to have her name added to the ground’s Honours Board. She earned the place with a five-wicket haul in England’s second innings of the women’s Test.
The spell
Goud removed opener Tammy Beaumont early and later returned to dismiss Maia Bouchier. She then took the key wicket of England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, followed by Alice Capsey. Her fifth came when Lauren Bell was out for 3.
She is the 15th Indian bowler on the Honours Board, joining names such as Kapil Dev, Bishan Singh Bedi, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.
A special celebration
An emotional Goud video-called her family while writing her name on the board with a marker. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and the rest of the team gathered round to applaud.
In context
The last Indian bowler to make the board was Bumrah, who took 5 for 74 against England in the 2025 Lord’s Test. Goud also became the third fast bowler in 2026 to take a five-wicket haul at the venue, after New Zealand’s Nathan Smith and Kyle Jamieson.
The performance showed Goud’s talent and marked a landmark for women’s cricket, as her name will now stay at the Home of Cricket.
