Deepti Sharma says she is thrilled to be part of Sunrisers Leeds, the defending champions in The Hundred Women’s 2026. Speaking to JioStar, the India all-rounder said she was delighted to be picked partly because orange is her favourite colour. Playing at their home ground in Leeds, she added, is special because the stands are full of Sunrisers supporters.
A happy dressing room
Deepti also spoke about the positive atmosphere in the squad. She said the players appreciate each other’s contributions, whether a good innings or a tight spell with the ball, and that the group is learning from those experiences as the tournament goes on.
Wickets for the defending champions
On the field she has been effective. Deepti took 12 wickets in eight league matches, including a spell of 3 for 11, which has been important to Sunrisers Leeds as they defend their title.
She is now the only Indian player left in the competition. Her contributions could be crucial as the champions try to reach the playoffs and keep their title defence alive.
