Chopra Imagines Big IPL 2027 Trades Involving Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Rajasthan

The IPL trade market is already moving. Lucknow Super Giants have sent Rishabh Pant to Delhi Capitals in exchange for Kuldeep Yadav, and more deals are expected in the coming weeks. Aakash Chopra has offered a few hypothetical moves involving Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. All of them remain speculation.

Kolkata and Delhi

Chopra’s first idea has KKR offering either Varun Chakaravarthy or Harshit Rana to Delhi for KL Rahul. He reasoned that Delhi, having lost Kuldeep, would gain a proven wicket-taking spinner in Varun. Kolkata, meanwhile, would address several needs at once by landing an opener, wicketkeeper and potential captain.

Delhi and Mumbai

A second route runs through Mumbai Indians, who Chopra suggested might see Rahul as a long-term successor to Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. In return, Delhi could pursue Hardik Pandya if talk about his future keeps growing. Chopra felt Hardik’s all-round game would suit Delhi’s conditions and style.

Mumbai, Rajasthan and Kolkata

The third scenario would see Mumbai send Hardik to Rajasthan Royals for opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Chopra pointed to Jaiswal’s Mumbai roots and long-term potential as a natural fit for the five-time champions, while Rajasthan would add an experienced all-rounder and bolster their middle order.

His final idea involves Rajasthan giving Jaiswal to Kolkata for Rinku Singh. KKR would pick up a destructive Indian opener, and Rajasthan would address middle-order worries with one of the country’s most dependable finishers.

The proposals have already got supporters talking as franchises start planning for IPL 2027, and with the trade window expected to stay open for some time, more prominent moves could follow.
