Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become the first bowler to bowl 400 dot balls in the UPT20 League. He passed the mark as Lucknow Falcons beat Noida Kings by 12 runs on DLS in a rain-affected match at Ekana Cricket Stadium on August 23, 2026.
It was his fifth appearance of the current season. He now has 408 dot balls from 124 overs across 35 matches over four seasons, the highest of any bowler in the competition.
The match
Noida Kings made 156/8. Rain then interrupted Lucknow’s chase with the Falcons on 144/5 after 17.3 overs, and the DLS method gave them the win.
A steady record
Bhuvneshwar has played in every edition since the league began. He bowled 118 dot balls in the first season, a best of 120 in the second and 117 in the third, and has added 53 so far in the fourth.
Abhinandan Singh shines
Abhinandan Singh was the match-winning bowler for the Falcons, taking 4/32 to hold Noida to 156/8. The haul also returned the Purple Cap to him, as he leads the Season 4 wicket-takers with 13 wickets from five matches.
