Anshul Kamboj has been added to India’s ODI squad for the third match against West Indies after Prasidh Krishna was injured in the second game, according to reports.
Krishna’s injury
Krishna bowled five overs before leaving the field with the problem. India still won by eight wickets to lead the three-match series 2-0. With Krishna unavailable for the finale in New Chandigarh on October 3, Kamboj has been called in as his replacement.
Who is Kamboj
Kamboj was playing for India A before the call-up. In his last game he bowled 17.3 overs in the first innings for figures of 3/34, then took 0/3 from two overs in the second. He left the India A camp on Thursday once his replacement there was confirmed.
He was Chennai Super Kings’ leading wicket-taker in the 2026 IPL. His only senior international appearance so far was a Test against England in Manchester in July 2025, so he has not yet played an ODI.
Will he play?
Being in the squad does not guarantee a place in the XI. Mohammed Siraj, who has not featured in the first two games, could return in Krishna’s place. Kamboj may come into contention if India make another change to the attack, which could include dropping debutant Auqib Nabi Dar.
