Amy Hunter Reaches Career-Best 11th in Women’s ODI Batting Rankings

Ireland’s Amy Hunter has moved to a career-best 11th in the ICC women’s ODI batting rankings after the Women’s Championship series against England, even though Ireland lost it 3-0.

Hunter’s consistent series

Hunter scored 62, 64 and 39 and finished on 644 rating points, making her Ireland’s most consistent batter. Only Miriam Grealey, with 654 points in August 2000, has had a higher rating among Ireland women’s batters.

England batters rise

Maia Bouchier climbed 13 places to 42nd after her 104 in the first ODI in Leicester, her second ODI century, which helped England chase 282 with 71 balls to spare. Sophia Dunkley jumped 26 places to 43rd following 119 in the third ODI at Worcester, her second ODI hundred, which sealed a 114-run win. Freya Kemp rose 37 places to 76th after 88 runs in the series at a strike rate of 117.33.

Further up, Maddy Green moved to sixth and Hayley Matthews up one to seventh. England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt dropped two places while she continues to recover from a calf injury.

Bowling movements

Charlie Dean rose two places to share 11th, and Lauren Filer climbed 14 to 39th. For Ireland, leg-spinner Cara Murray gained 16 places to return to the top 50 at 50th. Her eight wickets in three matches were the most by any bowler in the series.
