Virender Sehwag has voiced his frustration at Lucknow Super Giants’ repeated failures in IPL 2026 and questioned the thinking behind the team’s decisions.
Questions for the management
He took aim at a leadership group that includes Justin Langer as head coach, Tom Moody as director of cricket and Kane Williamson as strategy coach. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag said he could not understand how a side with so many experienced names kept getting things wrong, and asked what they were thinking.
The chasing problem
The former India opener also challenged LSG’s habit of choosing to chase despite visible batting struggles. He argued that if they had batted first and managed even 140 to 150, there would have been pressure on Kolkata Knight Riders, and he wondered who was making these calls.
Position in the table
After the defeat, LSG are at the bottom of the standings with two wins from eight matches and a net run rate of -1.106, which has deepened their difficulties this season.
