Raghu Sharma shows handwritten note after first IPL wicket for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians spinner Raghu Sharma produced one of the most emotional moments of the IPL season when he claimed his first wicket in the competition.

The wicket and the note

Sharma dismissed debutant Akshat Raghuwanshi with a caught-and-bowled. The young batter charged down the pitch, was deceived by the flight and got an inside edge that looped back to the bowler, who took a simple catch. Raghuwanshi was out for 11 from seven balls.

What followed drew even more attention. Sharma took a handwritten note from his pocket and showed it to the cameras. It reflected a long and emotional journey, thanked Mumbai Indians for the chance and marked the end of a difficult 15-year wait. After MI shared it on their official social media channels, the gesture went viral and struck a chord with fans.

Pooran powers Lucknow

Lucknow Super Giants made 228/5 in their 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran led the way with 63 from 21 balls, including eight sixes. Mitchell Marsh gave an early push with a brisk 44 and Josh Inglis added a quick cameo.

Captain Rishabh Pant reached 15 before falling, while Aiden Markram (31*) and Himmat Singh (40*) added valuable late runs. For Mumbai, Corbin Bosch took two wickets.
