MI Emirates have appointed Mark Boucher as head coach for the 2026-27 ILT20, replacing Robin Singh.
Taking over from Robin Singh
Singh led the franchise to the ILT20 title in 2024. In the 2025 edition MI Emirates reached the final but lost to Desert Vipers. The club has not publicly given a reason for Singh’s departure.
The new season is scheduled to run from November 22 to December 20, 2026, so Boucher will have limited preparation time once the auction is done.
Boucher’s background
Boucher was South Africa’s head coach between 2019 and 2022, working across all three formats. He then moved into the Mumbai Indians family, coaching the IPL side in 2023 and 2024. In 2025 he guided MI New York to the Major League Cricket title.
The appointment makes him head coach at three different MI-linked franchises. His knowledge of how the group operates should be useful as MI Emirates begin planning for the campaign.
