Litton Das Out of Zimbabwe ODIs With Hamstring Injury; Emon Called Up

Bangladesh will be without Litton Das for the remainder of their ODI series in Zimbabwe, as a hamstring injury has not healed in time.

Injury update

Litton was hurt before the first ODI on July 6 and missed the opener. There were hopes he would return later in the series, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed he is not recovered and will continue rehabilitation in Dhaka.

Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said Litton is still short of match fitness. He took a fitness test, the physio said, and the result was not satisfactory. With ODIs on consecutive days coming up, the medical staff do not expect him to make enough progress to play any part.

Replacement

The BCB has added left-handed opener Parvez Hossain Emon for the last two matches, due in Harare on July 9 and July 11.

Must-win game

The loss is a blow for a side already 1-0 down in the three-match series after a surprise defeat in the first ODI. Another loss in the second game would give Zimbabwe the series, while a win would level it and set up a decider.

Bangladesh came to Zimbabwe after a historic 2-1 ODI series win over Australia, their first bilateral ODI series victory against them. Ranked ninth in the ICC ODI rankings, they will want to bounce back despite missing one of their key batters.
