Bangladesh have received a boost with the return of wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das to the squad for the first Test against Australia, which starts in Darwin on August 13.
Recovered from calf injury
Litton hurt his left calf in the third ODI against Australia on June 14 and was formally ruled out of the first Test on July 25 as he continued rehab. He has since made encouraging progress, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed his inclusion, saying he would travel to Darwin to link up with the squad before the series opener.
Leadership and squad
Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the side, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz as vice-captain. The group also includes experienced players such as Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam.
Fast bowler Nahid Rana will miss the first Test with a left-side strain. The two-match series ends with the second Test in Mackay, starting on August 21, 2026.
