Josh Inglis Set to Join Lucknow Super Giants for Second Half of IPL 2026

Lucknow Super Giants expect to welcome Josh Inglis for the second half of IPL 2026, with the Australian wicketkeeper-batter due to join before their match against Mumbai Indians on May 4.

Why he is late

Inglis has been unavailable because of personal commitments. He married on April 18 and is spending time away before travelling to India. He has missed a large part of the tournament, but remains an important signing for LSG.

The signing

Inglis had a strong season last year with Punjab Kings, scoring 278 runs at a strike rate of 162.57. Although he was released before the 2026 auction, Lucknow bought him for INR 8.6 crore. If he is available from May 4, he could play in the last six league games.

LSG’s overseas puzzle

At present Lucknow’s overseas group features Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran, and they have not regularly named a fourth overseas player. George Linde has played recently as a spin option. Pooran has struggled for runs, with 51 in six innings at a strike rate of 80.

Further concern came when fast bowler Anrich Nortje left the squad last week in unclear circumstances, having played only one match.

Standing and next game

LSG are eighth with two wins from six, against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their next game is against Rajasthan Royals on April 22 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, where they will try to revive their season.
