Cricket Canada has announced a package of reforms after its suspension by the ICC, saying it will comply fully with the governing body’s regulations. In an official statement the board said it respects the ICC’s decision and has turned its attention to internal restructuring, governance and stronger financial administration.
The corrective plan
The board has given the ICC a detailed Corrective & Preventative Action Plan. It includes a full root cause analysis of governance and financial control failures, immediate corrective steps within 0–90 days and longer-term preventive measures within 90–180 days, all aimed at institutional stability and compliance. Its reform committee has been told to speed up its investigations and report within tight deadlines.
Independent committee
An independent committee led by a jurist has been created with full investigative powers. It is chaired by Canadian lawyer and former athlete Dasha Peregoudova and has unrestricted access to financial records, personnel interviews and reporting systems.
It is due to give interim recommendations within 14 days and a full report within 45 days, followed by a comprehensive remediation plan.
Wider governance steps
Cricket Canada is also reactivating its Finance & Audit Committee, revising its 2026 budget, accelerating audits, introducing mandatory governance training and correcting past gaps in financial controls.
