Cricket Australia (CA) has revised the women’s international schedule for 2026–27. Australia will host Bangladesh for an ODI series in October 2026, then New Zealand for a T20I series later that month, with a further ODI series against New Zealand in March 2027.
Why the change
The adjustments follow the ICC’s decision to bring the 2027 Women’s Champions Trophy forward from June to February, which altered the international window. CA said the new fixtures were agreed in consultation with New Zealand Cricket and the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Junction Oval under lights
A highlight is the day-night ODI between Australia and New Zealand at Junction Oval on Monday, March 8, which falls on Melbourne’s Labour Day holiday and International Women’s Day. It will be the first international match played under lights at the ground, and forms part of a wider cricket celebration in Melbourne before the 150th Anniversary Men’s Test begins on March 11.
CA’s Head of Scheduling and Cricket Operations, Peter Roach, said the programme balances global commitments while raising the profile of women’s cricket. He thanked both visiting boards, particularly New Zealand for agreeing to tour twice.
Tickets go on sale on July 23, with a CricketPlus pre-sale from July 20.
