Australia to Tour Bangladesh in June for First ODIs There Since 2011

Australia will travel to Bangladesh in June for a white-ball tour, their first in the country for 15 years. The itinerary has three ODIs followed by three T20 Internationals, starting on June 9.

Schedule and venues

All three ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, on June 9, 11 and 14. The T20Is move to the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on June 17, 19 and 21.

  • 1st ODI: June 9, Dhaka
  • 2nd ODI: June 11, Dhaka
  • 3rd ODI: June 14, Dhaka
  • 1st T20I: June 17, Chattogram
  • 2nd T20I: June 19, Chattogram
  • 3rd T20I: June 21, Chattogram

Broadcast and history

A new broadcast agreement means the series will be shown live in Australia on Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports. That differs from Australia’s previous white-ball visit in 2021, when no deal was in place and the matches were not shown at home, even though Australia lost that T20I series 4-1. Their last ODI series in Bangladesh was in 2011.

Wider context

The tour follows a planned three-match ODI series in Pakistan beginning on May 30, whose fixtures are yet to be officially confirmed. It will also be Australia’s first T20I assignment since their group-stage exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup. Bangladesh, meanwhile, are due in Australia in August for two Tests in Darwin and Mackay, their first Test series there since 2003.

Chief selector George Bailey has said Australia will run camps in May ahead of the Pakistan and Bangladesh series for white-ball players and squad hopefuls who are not involved in franchise leagues, with selection of the touring players the current focus.
