Sunrisers Hyderabad have recovered from a slow start to IPL 2026, winning four in a row and moving into the top half of the table. Aakash Chopra believes their bowling at the end of innings is a major reason.
Control at the death
Chopra noted that SRH have conceded 9.17 runs per over in overs 16 to 20, the best figure in the league. Mumbai Indians, by comparison, have given away around 10.75 in the same phase.
On his YouTube channel he said the team is on a winning spree and that the death-over economy is the best among all sides.
He attributed the improvement to pacers Eshan Malinga and Sakib Hussain, plus the return of captain Pat Cummins. Malinga has 14 wickets this season, Sakib took four on debut against Rajasthan Royals, and Cummins made an immediate difference with a controlled spell on his comeback.
Batting firepower
Chopra also praised the batting of Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan, who have helped SRH post several 200-plus totals. Abhishek has scored over 380 runs at a strike rate above 200. Calling them a beast of a team, Chopra said they dominate with bat and ball.
SRH are fourth with five wins from eight matches and pushing for a playoff place.
