Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians meet in the 13th match of IPL 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on 7 April.
Rajasthan arrive unbeaten after two matches and top of the table, having edged Gujarat Titans by 6 runs most recently. Yashasvi Jaiswal has already made 93 runs in two games and opens with the young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while Dhruv Jurel played a match-winning innings against Gujarat. Riyan Parag leads the side, but he will want more from a bowling group still looking for consistency. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger share the new ball, and Ravi Bishnoi took four wickets in the previous game.
Mumbai, captained by Hardik Pandya, were disappointing with the bat in their last outing, making 162 batting first and losing to Delhi Capitals by six wickets. Suryakumar Yadav was their top scorer, and Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton have looked in good touch at the top. Trent Boult is expected to return to partner Deepak Chahar, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner covering the middle overs.
With dew expected, bowling first looks sensible. We pick Mumbai Indians to edge it.
Barsapara is generally a batting-friendly T20 venue. The surface offers good bounce and steady pace, and short boundaries plus a quick outfield often produce big totals. Seamers can get some movement early, but the pitch becomes easier as the innings goes on, and spinners may grip a little in the middle overs. Dew is a major factor in evening games, making the ball hard to hold in the second innings, so captains who win the toss usually bowl first.
Guwahati is expected to be warm and slightly humid on 7 April, with temperatures of about 27–29°C and partly cloudy skies around the 7:30 pm start. There is only a small chance of rain and winds should be light. Dew may form later in the evening and trouble the bowlers in the second innings.
