NewsLahore Qalandars to Return for the 2026 Global Super League
Three-time PSL champions Lahore Qalandars will rejoin the Global Super League, with owner Sameen Rana and chairman Clive Lloyd welcoming the comeback.
Peshawar Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam, meet Lahore Qalandars in the 19th match of PSL 2026 at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday, 11 April. The match begins in the afternoon at 2:30 pm local time.
Zalmi remain unbeaten, sitting second in the table with three wins and one abandoned game. Their latest outing was a commanding 159-run win over Karachi Kings. Lahore, led by Shaheen Afridi, have had a mixed campaign, winning two and losing two of their four matches to sit fifth. They beat Hyderabad Kingsmen and Multan Sultans, and lost to Karachi Kings and Islamabad United.
Peshawar’s likely line-up pairs Babar with Mohammad Haris and Kusal Mendis, and relies on Sufiyan Muqeem and Nahid Rana among the bowlers. Lahore can turn to Abdullah Shafique, Sikandar Raza and Asif Ali with the bat, while Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Mustafizur Rahman lead a pace-heavy attack. Karachi in the afternoon is usually good for batting, so partnerships in the middle overs may decide the result.
The National Stadium surface in Karachi tends to favour batters, with a flat track, true bounce and a quick outfield that keeps totals high in T20s. Seamers may find a touch of movement with the new ball, but batting becomes easier later in the innings. Spin offers some help in the middle overs without much turn. Because this is an afternoon game, dew is not expected to matter.
A hot, mostly sunny afternoon is forecast for Karachi, with temperatures of about 35–36°C and humidity near 55–65%. A light to moderate breeze of 12–18 km/h should offer a little relief, and rain is extremely unlikely.
The 19th match of PSL 2026 begins at 2:30 pm local time (9:30 am GMT) on Saturday, 11 April, at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Peshawar Zalmi were unbeaten with three wins and one no-result, while Lahore Qalandars had won two and lost two from four matches.
Not likely. With an afternoon start, the ball should remain easy to hold for both attacks.
