Zimbabwe have announced their squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh, mostly keeping the group that reached the Super Eight at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Changes
Ben Curran keeps his place after first joining the World Cup squad as an injury replacement for Brendan Taylor. Graeme Cremer is out with a fractured left arm, and Taylor and Tony Munyonga are not included.
Newman Nyamhuri earns his first call-up. The 20-year-old, who debuted in 2024, recently took six wickets in the one-off Test against Bangladesh and then starred in the first ODI with figures of 2 for 22 and a vital 33, helping Zimbabwe to a notable win.
Milton Shumba is back in the T20I squad for the first time since 2022. The left-hander topped the run charts in Zimbabwe’s premier T20 competition earlier this year with 223 runs in eight matches.
Selectors’ view
Convenor of selectors David Mutendera said continuity mattered after what the World Cup showed about the group, and that the selectors also wanted to reward players who earned their chance and keep the team growing.
Zimbabwe come in confident after going unbeaten through the first round of the World Cup and beating Australia and Sri Lanka on the way to the Super Eight.
Schedule and squad
The three T20Is, at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 15, 17 and 19, end Bangladesh’s white-ball tour after the ODIs in Harare.
