Sri Lanka have named their squad for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates from August 28 to September 13. The team go into the event after a run of encouraging T20I results.
Dulani’s century
Imesha Dulani is among the names to watch. She recently became only the second Sri Lankan woman, after Chamari Athapaththu, to score a T20I hundred, finishing unbeaten on 101 against Pakistan on July 31.
A strong year in T20Is
Sri Lanka won a series 2-0 against the West Indies in February and March, with Athapaththu named Player of the Series. Between April 28 and May 2 they swept Bangladesh 3-0, and Athapaththu again took the series award after scoring 115 runs and taking four wickets.
The picture was less rosy at the Women’s T20 World Cup in England, where Sri Lanka ended third in their group and missed the semi-finals.

In the annual ICC rankings released on May 5, 2026, Sri Lanka stood seventh in women’s T20Is, only one point behind the team in sixth.
