Arjun Tendulkar made his Lucknow Super Giants debut against Punjab Kings, and his father Sachin Tendulkar marked the occasion with a warm public message.
A steady debut
The 26-year-old left-arm seamer bowled four overs for 36 runs and dismissed Prabhsimran Singh, who was well set on 69, with a well-executed yorker. He also scored five runs late in the innings. LSG lost the match, but his display drew attention.
Sachin’s message
Writing on X, Sachin said he was proud of how Arjun had carried himself through the season, believing in his ability, staying patient, working quietly and remaining positive despite waiting until the very last match for his chance. He noted that cricket tests patience as much as skill, said Arjun handled both well, and urged him to stay grounded and keep loving the game.
Return to the IPL
The game was Arjun’s first IPL appearance since his single outing for Mumbai Indians in 2024. In all, he has played five IPL matches for MI across two seasons, including four in 2023, when he took three wickets.
For LSG it was a forgettable season. They won only four of 14 matches and are set to finish at the bottom of the table despite a late fightback.
