Kathmandu Gurkhas have announced former India wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat as their first foreign signing for the 2026 Nepal Premier League. The tournament runs from November 17 to December 13.
What Bharat offers
Bharat played seven Tests for India. In the IPL he represented Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which has given him experience of high-pressure T20 cricket.
The 32-year-old has also scored more than 6,000 first-class runs, a sign of his consistency with the bat. Combined with his work behind the stumps, that makes him a useful option for Kathmandu in both the field and the batting order.
Bharat retired from international cricket in June 2026, and the move gives him a chance to keep playing franchise cricket.
About the tournament
