NewsQueen’s Park Oval Names Stand After Bravo, Pollard and Narine

Trinbago Knight Riders face Saint Lucia Kings in the 17th match of CPL 2026 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. It starts at 7:00 pm local time on Wednesday.
Trinbago’s probable XI is led by wicketkeeper-captain Nicholas Pooran and includes Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Matthew Breetzke and Kieron Pollard. Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein provide spin and Usman Tariq and Nathan Edward give the attack pace.
Saint Lucia are captained by Roston Chase, with Tim Seifert behind the stumps. Kamil Pooran, John Campbell and Johann Jeremiah are in the batting group, and Shadley van Schalkwyk, Matthew Forde and Maheesh Theekshana are among the bowling options. The squad also lists Andries Gous, Charith Asalanka and Noor Ahmad.
The pitch should give batters value early, so a strong powerplay can lay the foundation for 165-plus. Batters who keep wickets in hand can accelerate in the last five overs. If dew arrives, bowling first and chasing is the better choice. Our preview picks the hosts.
The Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba usually offers a balanced but slightly tricky T20 surface. Pace and bounce are available early for the new-ball bowlers, then the pitch can slow and bring spinners and slower balls into play. Batters who spend time at the crease can score, but uneven bounce and changes of pace make strokeplay harder. In the evening, dew could make the ball skid on and help the chasing side. A first-innings score of 150–165 is competitive, 160 or more is good and 170 or more is very strong.
Warm and humid with temperatures of around 28–29°C and mostly cloudy skies. The chance of rain at match time looks fairly low, although isolated showers or thunderstorms cannot be excluded, particularly earlier in the day. Winds should be moderate and some dew may appear later.
Our preview picks Trinbago Knight Riders.
Franchise T20 teams have averaged 174.8 in the first innings and 157.6 in the second at Brian Lara Stadium, a fairly balanced picture.
If dew becomes noticeable, bowling first is preferable. Otherwise, batting first and setting 165–170 should be competitive.
