Trent Rockets welcome Southern Brave to Trent Bridge on Monday 10 August for the 29th men’s match of The Hundred 2026, an evening game under what should be mostly cloudy skies.
The Rockets’ probable XI is headed by Finn Allen, Ben Duckett and Aneurin Donald, with captain Sam Billings and Tim David in the middle order. Mitchell Santner and Lewis Gregory add all-round depth, and Craig Overton, Calvin Harrison, Matt Henry and Ben Sanderson share the bowling.
Southern Brave are expected to line up with Jamie Smith, Michael Pepper, Marcus Stoinis, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs and Nikhil Chaudhary, plus Moeen Ali. Captain Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid and Luke Wood form the attack.
Both sides have plenty of power, so the powerplay and the final 20 balls should be decisive. We expect a competitive, fairly high-scoring game and favour the Rockets to come out on top.
Trent Bridge has long been seen as one of England’s better batting venues, with enough for bowlers to keep the contest balanced. Early swing and seam are possible, particularly in cloudy weather, which makes the powerplay important. The surface then settles for stroke-making, and the quick outfield and shorter boundaries favour aggressive hitting late on. Spinners can take wickets in the middle overs by varying their pace.
Monday 10 August at 6:30 pm local is forecast to be favourable, around 24–25°C with mostly cloudy skies and a light to moderate breeze. The chance of rain is low. Humidity may rise through the evening and some dew is possible later, while the cloud could help the seamers early.
Our preview picks Trent Rockets, who are at home and have a batting line-up led by Finn Allen, Ben Duckett and Tim David.
We think about 160 will be competitive, and a side reaching 160 or more first has a good chance.
Rain is unlikely. Cloud may help seam bowlers early, and a little dew could appear later in the evening.
