Jamaica Kingsmen vs Barbados Royals Prediction & Match Preview – CPL 2026, Match 4

Jamaica Kingsmen start their home campaign against Barbados at Sabina Park in the fourth match of CPL 2026. The Kingsmen come off a narrow defeat in which they defended 167. Rovman Powell was their top scorer, though a costly moment on the final ball denied them a tie and a Super Over. Their bowling was impressive, but the batting probably finished 5–10 runs short, and they will aim for 175–180 at home.

Shaqkere Parris, who played under Powell at Barbados last year, has joined Jamaica and is expected to bat at No. 3 alongside Keacy Carty at No. 4. Andre Russell, Hassan Khan and Keemo Paul give the order depth, and Russell and Paul lead a strong pace attack.

Barbados have a new captain in Australian all-rounder Chris Green, who replaces Azmatullah Omarzai. The squad also adds George Linde, Gudakesh Motie and Zachary Carter, and retains Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Quinton de Kock averaged 23 at a strike rate of 119 last season, but his ability to build an innings could matter on a tricky surface. Sherfane Rutherford must balance aggression with shot selection.

Mujeeb, Motie and Green offer quality spin, while Daniel Sams adds pace variety and lower-order runs. It looks a closely matched game, and we favour the home side.

Pitch report

Sabina Park tends to be a balanced surface. Fast bowlers can get useful bounce, carry and early movement, and once batters settle the pitch is good for stroke-making. Spinners come into play as it slows in the middle overs. Under lights, dew could help the chasing side. Pace bowlers are likely to have the early advantage.

Weather

The evening is expected to be warm, humid and partly cloudy, around 29–30°C. A few showers or thunderstorms are possible earlier in the day, but the chance of rain near the 7:00 pm local start is low. It will be breezy, and some moisture could produce dew in the second innings.

Expected scores

  • 1st innings: 175–185
  • 2nd innings: 180–190
