Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Prediction & Preview – IPL 2026, 6th Match

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad meet at Eden Gardens on Thursday, 2 April, in the sixth match of IPL 2026. The match starts at 7:30 pm local time.

Kolkata’s squad includes Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Cameron Green, Finn Allen, Rovman Powell and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, with Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana and Matheesha Pathirana in the attack. Sunrisers are captained by Pat Cummins in the squad list and feature Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Liam Livingstone and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The quick outfield and good bounce at Eden Gardens reward stroke play, and the powerplay is the best time to score heavily. Spinners can get some grip in the middle overs, while dew should favour the chasing team, so bowling first is the likely plan after winning the toss. Our preview picks Kolkata Knight Riders.

Pitch report

Eden Gardens is generally batting-friendly in T20s, with good pace and bounce and a quick outfield. Fast bowlers can get some swing early, after which batting gets easier. Spinners may find grip in the middle overs but rarely dominate unless the surface is dry. Dew in night games helps the chasing team, and totals of 170–190 are quite common.

Weather

Kolkata should be warm and slightly humid at 7:30 pm local time, with temperatures of 29–32 °C and fairly high humidity. Skies should be partly cloudy with a low chance of rain, and dew is likely later in the evening.

Expected scores

• 1st innings: 170–190
• 2nd innings: 165–185
