India Women and Sri Lanka Women meet in the final of the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday 13 September.
India are led by Harmanpreet Kaur and have a top order built around Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Pratika Rawal, with Richa Ghosh behind the stumps. Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat, Nandani Sharma, Shree Charani and Kranti Gaud complete the likely side. The slow surface should reward them for using the powerplay well before the spinners take over.
Sri Lanka are captained by Chamari Athapaththu and hope to lean on Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari, with Kaushani Nuthyangana keeping wicket. Their slow left-arm options could be important against India’s top order.
Strike rotation may count for more than boundary-hitting in the middle overs, and a strong finish could add 25–35 runs. A total of 145 or more looks competitive, with dew making a chase slightly easier.
Dubai’s surface is normally balanced for T20 cricket, with some early help for the quicker bowlers. It can be dry and slowish, which brings spin and slower deliveries into play in the middle overs, but stroke-making gets easier once batters are in, especially under lights. Evening dew may help the ball skid on and assist a chase. Around 155–165 is a competitive total and 170 or more is a strong one.
The evening is forecast to be very warm and hazy at the 6:30 pm local start, with temperatures of about 34–35°C and virtually no chance of rain. Play should not be interrupted, although the heat could be demanding for the players.
