Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers Prediction & Match Preview – BBL 2025-26

Sydney Sixers take on Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the fourth match of the 2025-26 Big Bash League. The game starts at 7:15 pm local time, so the evening conditions will shape how the two sides approach the toss.

The Sixers’ squad is built around Moises Henriques, Steve Smith, Josh Philippe and Babar Azam, with Mitchell Starc, Sean Abbott and Ben Dwarshuis among the bowling options, and Todd Murphy providing spin. Adelaide counter with a strong batting core that includes Travis Head, Matt Short, Alex Carey and Chris Lynn, supported by Jamie Overton, Hasan Ali and Lloyd Pope.

Early swing should help the fast bowlers during the first three or four overs, but the surface flattens quickly. Totals of 165–180 are generally competitive here, and teams chasing need smart pacing and good partnerships. The SCG’s conditions suit the home side, which is why our preview picks the Sixers.

Pitch report

The Sydney Cricket Ground usually offers a balanced contest. Fast bowlers can find swing and seam early, helped by the grass cover and coastal air, before the surface becomes more batting-friendly and set batters score freely. Spinners tend to get some help later as the pitch dries out. Overall it is a true wicket that gives both bat and ball a chance.

Weather

The evening should be warm and pleasant at around 23–25 °C, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies, light to moderate winds and only a minimal chance of rain.

Expected scores

• 1st innings: 165–180
• 2nd innings: 160–175
