The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka ends at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the second Test is scheduled for five days from Tuesday 17 November to Saturday 21 November 2026. Both Tests count towards the 2025-27 World Test Championship. The opening Test is at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 9 to 13 November, so by the time the teams reach Lahore the series will either be level, or one side will need only a draw to hold on to a lead.
What is at stake
Because the series has only two matches, the first Test decides what the second means. A win in Rawalpindi would put the winners in position to take the series in Lahore; a draw or defeat would send the other side to Lahore needing a result. The matches also carry World Test Championship points for both teams. The situation after 13 November is not yet known.
The tour so far
The Tests come at the end of a long tour. Sri Lanka’s visit began with three T20Is at Rawalpindi from 9 October, followed by a seven-match ODI tri-series with England in Rawalpindi and Lahore that ended with a final at the Gaddafi Stadium on 31 October. Sri Lanka also play a three-day warm-up match in Islamabad from 4 to 6 November before the first Test.
Squads
Kusal Mendis captains Sri Lanka, who have named a 15-man squad for the series. Pakistan’s captain and squad for the Tests have not been confirmed here, and the eleven for Lahore will not be known until the first Test has been played.
The venue and what to watch
The Gaddafi Stadium is Lahore’s main international ground. No pitch report, weather forecast or start time has been published for the Test, so conditions are not known. The result at Rawalpindi, and how each side’s bowlers have come through a long tour, will decide most of what to watch in Lahore.
No prediction or expected scores are given, as squads, conditions and the result of the first Test are not available.
