Durban Super Giants face Joburg Super Kings at Kingsmead in the sixth match of SA20 2025-26. Durban started in emphatic style, posting 232/5 against defending champions MI Cape Town at Newlands and edging home in the final over. Devon Conway and Kane Williamson laid the platform with composed, gap-finding batting. Their second game was rained off after Durban reached 37 without loss in four overs.
The batting has plenty of power, with Jos Buttler, Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram able to shift a game in a few overs, and Evan Jones, David Wiese and Eathan Bosch giving depth. The concern is bowling at the death, where there are few proven options, and a shortage of spin support for Noor Ahmad until Sunil Narine joins.
Joburg Super Kings opened with a 22-run win over Pretoria Capitals at Centurion. After early wickets, Rilee Rossouw made 48, Wiaan Mulder 43 and Akeal Hosein hit a late burst to reach 168/6. The Capitals then raced to a 71-run opening stand, but injury replacement Duan Jansen took 4/23 and they collapsed to 146/9.
This Joburg side leans on pace more than in past seasons and looks well balanced. We give them a narrow edge over a Durban team whose bowling is the weaker department.
