Two of the early pace-setters in PSL 2026 meet at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday, 13 April, when Peshawar Zalmi take on Multan Sultans in the 22nd match, starting at 7:00 pm local time.
Zalmi have four wins and one abandoned game from five matches, nine points and a net run rate of +2.877. They chased 214 against Rawalpindiz and 145 against Hyderabad Kingsmen, then beat Karachi Kings by 159 runs after posting 246/3, and followed that with a 76-run win over Lahore Qalandars. Kusal Mendis has 241 runs in four innings at a strike rate above 172, including a century, and captain Babar Azam has 212 at an average of 70.67. Sufiyan Muqeem leads the bowlers with ten wickets, with Iftikhar Ahmed and Nahid Rana among the wicket-takers too.
Multan sit second with four wins and a loss and a net run rate of +0.941. Opener Sahibzada Farhan has 232 runs at a strike rate of 181.25, Steve Smith 144, Shan Masood 152, and captain Ashton Turner has been a strong finisher. Arafat Minhas and Faisal Akram have five wickets each, and Mohammad Nawaz also has five. Both sides have been at their best when chasing, so the toss and Karachi’s dew could matter. Our preview slightly favours Peshawar.
