The Indian Premier League has crowned a champion every year since its first edition in 2008. The table below lists the winner and runner-up of each final up to and including 2024. It is correct as of 2024; later editions are not covered on this page.

Title count to 2024
On this table, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have each won the title five times. Kolkata Knight Riders have three titles, while Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans each have one.
Franchise names
Some teams have changed their names over time. Kings XI Punjab, the 2014 runners-up, now play as Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore later adopted the name Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Deccan Chargers no longer play in the league, and Rising Pune Supergiant competed only for a short period in which Chennai and Rajasthan were suspended. Names in the table are those used at the time.
Notes on the 2020 edition
The 2020 tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates rather than in India, with Mumbai Indians beating Delhi Capitals in the final.
