Galle Marvels and Kandy Falcons meet in the 11th match of the Lanka Premier League 2026 at Dambulla, with the two teams arriving in contrasting form. Galle beat Jaffna Kings by 60 runs in their previous game, while Kandy lost by 23 runs to Colombo Kaps.
Galle’s win was built on a strong batting display. Sahan Arachchige hit 63 off 36 balls and opener Chris Lynn made 46 from 22, with Sam Harper, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka also in the line-up. With the ball, Eshan Malinga and Tharindu Ratnayake took three wickets apiece, and Akif Javed and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth complete the attack.
Kandy’s hopes rest on Lahiru Udara, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Perera, Dale Phillips and Vijay Shankar. In the loss, captain Mathews made 39 off 24, Phillips 38 from 27 and Shankar 30 off 23. Their bowling has quality in Shaheen Afridi, Nuwan Thushara, Wanindu Hasaranga, Moeen Ali and Dushan Hemantha, with Afridi and Moeen taking two wickets each last time out. Given the momentum, Galle are the narrow favourites.
