Dhaka Capitals and Rangpur Riders both won their opening BPL 2025-26 games, and the eighth match at Sylhet pits two sides with plenty of confidence against each other. Dhaka, who finished sixth last season, beat Rajshahi Warriors by five wickets while chasing a modest 133.
Abdullah Al Mamun anchored that chase with 45 off 39 balls on a tricky surface, and Imad Wasim led the bowlers with 3 for 16. Saif Hasan, who scored 306 runs in 13 innings last season, and Usman Khan, who passed 200 runs in the previous BPL, remain important at the top, while Mohammad Mithun hit 268 runs at a strike rate of 128 in the previous edition.
Rangpur dismissed Chattogram Royals for 107 and chased the target with seven wickets in hand. Malan and Litton Das gave them a fluent start, Mahmudullah adds experience to the middle order, and Faheem Ashraf’s 5 for 17 showed his value as an all-rounder. Mustafizur Rahman, who took 13 wickets at an economy of 7.35 last season, leads an attack that now also includes the young pace bowler Nahid Rana and the off-spinner Aliss Al Islam.
