West Indies have added wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad as cover for Jewel Andrew before the five-match series against India.
Andrew’s injury
Andrew, 19, injured a finger while taking a catch in the third ODI against India on October 3. Scans showed no fracture, but he remains under observation by the West Indies medical staff.
He has not been ruled out of the T20I series. His place depends on how he recovers and on further assessments.
Jangoo’s form
Jangoo, 29, arrives in good touch. He has played seven T20Is for West Indies, scoring 163 runs at a strike rate of 120.74. He also helped Antigua and Barbuda Falcons win the CPL 2026 title, making 213 runs in the tournament.
He then impressed in the ODI series against India, with scores of 58 not out, 114 and 67, a total of 239 runs from three matches.
Series schedule
The T20I series starts in Lucknow on October 6. The remaining matches will be played in Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
