A short video posted by Rajasthan Royals has won Vaibhav Sooryavanshi widespread praise online. It shows him reaching the team hotel after his record 35-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was greeted with a garland, but he promptly handed it to a young fan who had waited outside with other supporters hoping to see the team, which is led by Riyan Parag.
A standout season
On the field, the Bihar batter has been in outstanding touch. He briefly held the Orange Cap and now shares second place in the run-scoring list with KL Rahul. He has 357 runs from eight innings at an average of 44.62 and a strike rate of 234.87, including 31 fours and 32 sixes, which makes him the leading six-hitter of the season.
Royals’ position
Rajasthan Royals are fourth in the IPL 2026 table with five wins from eight games. They won their first four matches but have lost three of their last four, the latest defeat coming against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who chased down 229 in Jaipur.
Parag’s side next play unbeaten Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, looking to bounce back.
