Jersey have won Cricket World Cup Challenge League A, finishing on 25 points, five clear of Kuwait, after the final round in Nairobi ended on 31 October. Both sides go through to the Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off in Nepal in December.
Jersey arrived in Kenya top of the table and won four of their five matches at the Nairobi Gymkhana Club Ground and the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground. Across the whole competition, which began in Kenya in September 2024 and had its second round in Jersey in August 2025, they won 12 of 15 matches, lost two and tied one.
Zak Tribe set the tone in the opening match on 22 October, scoring 150 off 129 balls, his highest international score, as Jersey made 347 for 5 and beat Papua New Guinea by 172 runs. Ben Ward took 5 for 49 in that game and 5 for 28 three days later, when Jersey beat the hosts Kenya by 123 runs after Asa Tribe’s 72 helped them to 320 for 9.
The only defeat came on 27 October. Jersey made 224 in their 50 overs and Kuwait reached their target for the loss of three wickets, with Clinto Anto scoring 113 off 77 balls after Meet Bhavsar had taken 5 for 25. Jersey recovered to beat Denmark by 72 runs on 30 October, Jonty Jenner scoring 81 off 53, and closed with a 34-run win over Qatar in a match cut to 24 overs a side by rain. Zak Tribe made 53 off 42 balls and took 4 for 16, and Josh Lawrenson hit 40 off 27 as Jersey posted 194 for 8 before bowling Qatar out for 160.
The round’s awards went to Lawrenson as best player and to Zak Tribe as best batter. “I think we’re playing at a higher level than we’ve really ever played,” Tribe said.
Final standings and what comes next
Kuwait took second place on 20 points. Their Nairobi round included a 150-run win over Kenya on 28 October, when Ravija Sandaruwan hit 162 off 114 balls with 18 fours and eight sixes in a total of 367 for 9. Denmark finished third on 13 points and Papua New Guinea fourth on 12, with Qatar and Kenya level on 10 points at the bottom.
The Play-off brings together eight teams, among them hosts Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Namibia, Italy and Uganda, in one-day internationals. The top four go through to the ten-team World Cup Qualifier, the last stage of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup.
